Man of the Shade

Expressions of love lie down today in a massacre
More then innocence; in tragedy they do surrender
My affection towards the gleam of raw metal lingers
Varied with the scent of copper blood on my fingers
I trace my addiction of the blade down my arm
A metaphor to my timeline of self-harm
There is no anthem or translators for my cause
Three days from now all I sought will be lost
Man of the Shade, my ice and my blade
Exiled is the temptation to do right in my fade
Collect in cycle like the seasons
Nonexistence is the voice of reason
I sit alone destructive in decisions
What I hold self-evident is a worthless vision
Just yesterday I had given up my life to all materialistic
In poetry I started my war to be left unwritten
On black Mondays and Fridays I pray to get by
For upon encountering the worst I do stray away from the kind
A guardian angel, once long ago
Did secure my rightful throne
But I've spit out religion, worship, and prayer
In life people listen to only what's heard fair
In the mind of myself I choose myself to be
The Man of the shade, of fallen knees
Of wretched promises and regret
And hate filled letters to the ones whom left
ME
To be who I was never meant to be
And you turned away, subtle
Subjecting me to be a dying cause
So I not only cut out my troubles
I damn your laws
I posses only a lonely soul
Asking for no love, but first me
To love myself
This Man of the shade he struggles in the half of me
He does not show emotion, being unearthed in
A loveless feed
I cut, I drug
And the angel inside me breaks
And I cry myself asleep
And I die a mirror ending
"Of If only there was someone that could intervene"
If only soul and destiny weren't so hard to lead
